What We Build
DeckRescue Pros designs and builds new decks for homeowners in Akron and the surrounding communities. Whether you want a low-maintenance composite deck that shrugs off Ohio winters or a classic pressure-treated build that fits your budget, every deck starts with code-depth footings, gets a real permit, and finishes with a passed final inspection.
Ground-up design and construction of new decks: single level, multi-level, wraparound, and second-story. Built to Ohio's 36-inch frost depth on every footing.
New deck builds in Akron →Trex, TimberTech, and Deckorators installs with hidden fasteners, picture-frame borders, and aluminum railing. No staining or sealing needed.
Composite decking →Pressure-treated and cedar decks that deliver the most square footage per dollar. Properly flashed, properly fastened, sealed and ready for Ohio weather.
Wood decks →Roofed decks, open-gable porches, and pergolas tied cleanly into your existing roofline so you can use the space in April rain and July sun alike.
Covered decks & porches →Board and railing replacement, joist and ledger repair, and full re-decking over sound frames. This is the service our name was built on.
Deck repair →A straight cost-and-maintenance comparison for Northeast Ohio's climate, with 10-year total cost of ownership for both materials.

A deck that would last forty years in Arizona fails in eight here. Northeast Ohio combines a deep frost line, water-holding clay soil, and dozens of municipalities that each run permits their own way. We build around all three, because we've spent years repairing the decks of builders who didn't.
Ground here freezes deep enough that any footing poured shallow gets lifted a little more every winter, until stairs pull away, rails rack, and the frame tilts. Code-depth footings poured to 36 inches minimum, below the frost line, go under every post we set. This is the single most-skipped step in cheap deck builds, and it stays invisible until the third spring.
"Half the leaning decks we inspect trace back to footings poured 18 inches deep in clay."
Akron, Cuyahoga Falls, Stow, Hudson, Medina, Green: separate building departments, separate drawing requirements, separate inspector expectations. Hudson layers historic-district design review on top, and Medina's newer subdivisions add HOA committees in front. We prepare drawings that pass each office the first time, because we file with these departments every week. You never stand at a municipal counter.
A deck without a final inspection becomes a problem when you go to sell the house.
100+ freeze-thaw crossings a winter, snow sitting on boards for weeks, humid summers feeding mildew in the shade. Wood survives it only with disciplined sealing, while composite was engineered for exactly this abuse. We build both and give you the real 10-year cost of each, plus the details that matter regardless of material: flashed ledgers, coated fasteners, and framing spaced for the boards it carries.
Northeast Ohio is close to a worst-case decking climate, so we build for it.

Common Questions
Most new pressure-treated decks we build in the Akron area run $9,000–$16,000, and composite decks run $16,000–$32,000 depending on size, height, and railing selection. Every project gets a fixed written quote before work begins. See our deck pricing page for detailed breakdowns by size and material.
In most Northeast Ohio municipalities, any deck attached to the house, or any freestanding deck more than 30 inches above grade, requires a building permit. Requirements vary between Akron, Cuyahoga Falls, Stow, and the townships, which is exactly why we handle the permit application, drawings, and inspections on every build.
Once permits are approved, most new deck builds take 3–7 working days on site. From signed quote to finished deck is typically 2–4 weeks depending on your municipality's permit turnaround.
Composite decking handles Northeast Ohio's freeze-thaw cycles and snow load with zero refinishing. Pressure-treated wood costs roughly half as much up front but needs re-sealing every 2–3 years to survive our winters. We build both. Read our composite vs. wood comparison for the 10-year numbers.
